Abstract: In addition to the distance from the continent of Africa, Madagascar, and the varying sizes and altitudes of the islands, the varying number of known species from different islands is due to the disparate amounts of work done on them. The Seychelles, Mauritius, La Réunion, Mayotte, and Grande Comore where visited several times, Moheli and Rodriguez for a few days only, while we only know of older reports from Madagascar and Anjouan.
