Abstract: Besides Typhalatifolia and T. angustifolia, Sparganium erectum is also a host plant of
Iridothrips mariae (Pelikán, 1961). These plants belong to different families, but their leaf sheaths
are filled with mucous material, providing special microhabitat in the vegetation period (but not
