Abstract: Author caught this greatly isolated moth by bait in an orchard at Tiszaderzs (ont the left bank of the Tisza; some 125 kms east of Budapest) the 26th and 29th August, 1923; and olso on heads of the sunflower in the area of the village Pomáz, (about 2-3km.-s from the Danube and 7 km-s north of Budapest on the rim of the Danubian plair), the 25th August, till the 8th September, 1945. All these moth are smaller than the type, the males being 30-34 mm, and the females 33-37 mm broad. The form occuring in Tiszaderzs, corresponding in colour to the type and deviating from it only in size, was named f. hungarica f. nova. … Description of Euxoa hastifera Donz. and its habitat in the Hungarian plain.
