Abstract: The figures on pages 2-10 show, in a quantitative columnal-grap system, the flight periods of our home dragonflies. The imaginary curve drawn on the upper level of the several coloumns presents the flight period functon of the animal. Periods (months, ten-day durations) are shown on the horizontal axis, collecting data hinge on the vertical axis. Any occurence (from different localities in the same period or vice versa) counts always as one datum, irrespective of the number of collected specimens. If we were to regard collectings as even, the graphs present also relative frequency pictures. The number of unjustified dropbacks testify on defective colectings. Data with question marks are dubious. On the basis of the figures, I grouped the order of sequence of the appearances of four dragonflies according to months and ten-day periods, then, comparing them with German tabulations of a similar character, I was able to estabilish that the dragonflies of Hungary emerge, that is. fly , wuth the exeption of some few, generally earlier (10 or 20 days). This is maybe caused by temperature difference in our open waters. To the flight period graphs composed on the basis of about 4000 specimens collected in about 100 localities, I annexed locality maps. On these two maps, showing the area of Hungary in two portions the several localities are indicated by circles. In the lists following the maps, the meanings of the numbers given in the circles of the respective loclities are given, the same as the record of the species found in them. For the sake of brevity, I have also indicated the species by numbers. These numbers are the seriel numbers of the species given in the flight period graphs.
