Abstract: Author discusses the recently highly damaging two leaf roller moths in the hautboystrawberry plantations of Hungary, namely the Tortricids Ancylis comptana Fröl. and Pandemisdumetana tr. Discussed are their morphology, stages, numbers of generations, agreeing and differingfeatures of the damages of the two species per larval stages, finally possibilities of control measures.Ancylis comptana Fröl. has 3 generations annually, hibernating as a fully developed larva. The last, hibernating generation causes the great damage. pandemis dumetana tr. has 2 generations;the caterpillars of stage L3 hibernate, continuing their ravages in the spring, at the onestof mild weather. The rate of damage is the highest in April-May an djuly. Different kinds ofinsecticides against the caterpillars of Ancylis comptana fröl. habe been tested the bestresults being given by Wofatox Spritzpulver 30. Against the larvae of Pandemis dumetana tr.,baturin, containing 2,5 per cent of the spores and protein inclusions of Bacillus thuringiensisBerliner, has been tested, and the best results attained by wet dusting at the dosage 20 kg/ha.In case of infection, measures are justified at least 4 times during the year: 1. at the beginningof September-October, 2. in April, 3. in June, 4. in July.
