Abstract: On the basis of the Collection of the Hungarian Natural History Museum and the1965 data of the nationwide light-trap netwotk, author discusses swarming and distribution inHungary of the two Homoptera species. The working up of the data was due to the two speciesbeing the vector for the virus causing dwarf-growth and degeneration maize. They have greatsignificance from applied and economical points of view. The disease had not yet beenencountered in Hungary, but apparently already naturalized in the neighbouring Czechoslovakia.In cognisance of the swarming period and distribution, preventive measures can be effected in time.
