Abstract: Ten Trypetid species were estabilished in the calathidium of the 14 weeds examined. Acanthiophilus helianthi Rossi is living on 5, Euribia quadrifasciata Meig., Xyphosia miliaria Schrk. and Eusina sonchi L. species on 3 and the other 6 species of the flies are living each on 1 weed. Common characteristics of the so called eurychron species is, that all of them have more generations, with a great number of individuals and a long flying time, so calathidium of weeds can get infected during the whole time of vegetation. The infection percentage was high in some years (a960, 1964) especially in the case of Euribia quadrifasciata Meig., E. cuspidata Meig. and Acanthiophilus helianthi Rossi; but reached also with the other species 3-5 p.c. It is to remark, that the percentage-dates are showing the outstanding values of the observed years. Two species of the ten are eventually causing great economical damage: Acanthiophilus helianthi Rossi in Centaurea and Carthamus while Trupaena amoena Frfld. in lettuce seedbreeding. The ither species are aconomically indifferent. Regarding their role in the natural control of weeds every enumerated species may be qualified as useful.
