Abstract: The Microcrypticus GEBIEN, 1920 genus is revised, completed with an identification key to the known species. New subgenus: Crypticocatops (type: Platydema catopoides FAIRMAIRE, 1896). New synonyms: Crypticus submaculatus CHAMPION, 1894 = Microcrypticus scriptum (LEWIS, 1894); Platydema polyspila FAIRMAIRE, 1896 = Microcrypticus octomaculatus (MOTSCHULSKY, 1873); Platydema scriptipenne FAIRMAIRE, 1875 = Microcrypticus ziczac (MOTSCHULSKY, 1873). New combination: Platydema sericans FAIRMAIRE, 1896 = Sivacrypticus sericans (FAIRMAIRE, 1896); Basides octomaculatus MOTSCHULSKY, 1873 = Microcrypticus octomaculatus (MOTSCHULSKY, 1873).
