Abstract: data to the reared flies (24500 and over 21000 specimens) from manure samples and to those collected in three Hungarian and two Afghan cattle farms are given. On the basis of Hungarian rearing data and observations it is provided that only a small surface area of the floor is suitable for flies to breed on : remains of stagnating manure. It i sestabilished that the fly conditions of the Afghan cattle farms (species compositions of fly communities, breeding sites) principally are the same as in Hungary, consequently the protective measures applied here may be used efficiently in Afghanistan too. Author suggest a method to locate breeding places and to exterminate them by using various chemicals.
