Abstract: Based on a hstorical and critical review of all published and unpublished data and collections from the Mecsek Mts. (South Hungary), a detailed summary of the known lepidopterous fauna of the region is given; 1664 species (represented by about 350000 exemplars, 170000 deriving from light traps) are listed with all relevant details.
