Abstract: The new subgenus Agnopius Fischer of th egenus Opius Wesmael (Hymenoptera, Braconidae) is described. Keys for identification of the Palearctic species of the subgenera Agnopius nov. and Misophtora Foerater are proposed. Emendations to the descriptions of several species are given. Important morphological details are figured. Some synonyms are recognized. Opius (Mysophthora) instabilis Wesmael, O. (Agnopius) monticola Szépligeti, O. (utetes9 zelotes Marshall comb. Nov. and Bracanstrepha) brasiliensis Szépligeti comb. Nov. are redescribed.
