Abstract: Studying a long series of Zygaena loti peszerenzis Reiss, 1929 and Eilema complana balcanica Daniel, 1939 both paratypes and from the locus typicus housed in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest, the author concludes on the basis of habitus and genital features that the subspecies are in fact synonymous with the nominate species.
