Abstract: Forty-three Apanteles Förster species are recorded from Hungary and the adjacent countries within the Carpathian Basin. The majority of the species are new to the fauna of Hungary or to the Carpathian Basin. Faunistical and taxonomical characterization of the species are given. The representatives of the following 13 species-groups of Apanteles are discussed: longispinalis-, ultor-, butalidis-, vipio-, laspeyresiella-, merula-, falcatus-, validus-, carbonarius-, circumscriptus-, fraternus-, pallipes- and parasitella-group. New synonymy: A. naso Marshall, 1885 = A. coreia Nixon, 1973, syn. n. New host data of Apanteles arisiba Nixon, A. bicolor (Nees), A. elpis Nixon, A. laetus Mrshall, A. nanus Reinhard, A. parasitellae (Bouché), A. rimulosus Niezabitowski and A. viminetorum (Wesmael) are detailed. The species-assemblage of the species-groups within the genus Apamteles Förster, disclosed in part 2 and the present (4) part of the contributions, are enumerated alphabetically.
