Abstract: This article deals with the Paederinae od Papua New Guinea collected by Dr. Richard Hornabrook. Twelve genera are cited in which are 41 species and two varieties, three species have already been recorded and 38 are new to science. Paederus Fabricius, 1857 (1 species plus 1 variety), Astenus Stephens, 1832 (2 species), Stilicopsis Sachse, 1857 (9), Stilicoderus Sharp, 1889 (4), Rugilus Curtis, 1827 (1 species plus 1 variety), Dibelonetes Sahlberg, 1844 (4), Cephalochaetus Kraatz, 1859 (2), Lathrobium Gravenhorst, 1802 (6), Pinobius MacLeay, 1873 (2), Medon Stephens, 1833 (1), Thinocharis Kraatz, 1859 (1), Ochthephilum Stephens, 1829 (5). Outline drawings of the aedeagi where possible have been made to aid in the identification of species.
