Abstract: 23 Anotylus Thomson and 4 Oxytelus Gravenhorst species are listed from the Carpathian Basin. First occurrence of A. fairmairei Pandellé from Hungary is recorded. An identification key with a summary of available data and critical remarks on the homogenity of the nitidolus-group (A. nitidulus Gravenhorst, A. petzi Bernhauer, A. herculis Bernhauer, A. politus Erichson) is given.
