Abstract: Examinations carried out showed that the holotype of Subboriomyia fusca Steinmann, 1967 is a female exemplar of Wesmaelius subnebulosus (Stephens, 1836). Consequently, the monotypical genus Subboriomyia Steinmann, 1967 is a junior synonym of Wesmaelius Krüger, 1922. The holotype of Wesmaelius ignoratus Steinmann, 1967 is a female exemplar of Hemerobius lutescens Fabricius, 1793.
