Abstract: Our collecting of scale insects in Portugal yielded 30 species from 7 families. From the collected species 12 (Kuwania rubra Goux, 1938, Atrococcus paludinus (Green, 1921), Balanococcus scirpi (Green, 1921), Trionymus perrisii (Signorét, 1875), Vryburgia amaryllidis (Bouché, (1837), Acanthococcus roboris Goux, 1931, Gossyparia spuria (Modeer, 1778), Pseudochermes fraxini (Kaltenbach, 1860), Parafairmairia gracilis Green, 1916, Rhizopulvinaria marilima Canard, 1967, Asterodiaspis quercicola (Bouché, 1851), and Unaspis citri (Comstock, 1881), proved to be new for the scale insect fauna of Continental Portugal.
