Abstract: A list of the species of Rhysodidae, Cicindelidae, Carabidae, Haliplidae, Dytiscidae, Laccophilidae, Noteridae, Hydroporidae and Gyrinidae occurring in Hungary is given. Brychiini trib. n., Rhiacodytes gen. n., Schizoporus gen. n., Calliporus gen. n. and Platynomemis subgen. n. are described. A new name, Carabus irregularis praenoricus nom. n., is proposed for Carabus irregularis cephalotes Sokoláf, 1909 (nec Carabus cephalotes Linnaeus,1758). Carabus auratus Linnaeus, 1761 is designated as the type species of Tachypus Weber, 1801. Tachypus is a senior objective synonym of Autocarabus Seidlitz, 1887. Carabus quadriguttatus Fabricius, 1775 is designated as the type species of Tachys Schönherr, 1806. Tachys is a junior objective synonym of Bembidion Latreille, 1802. Dytiscus impressus Fabricius, 1787 is designated as the type speciesof Cnemidotus Illiger, 1802. Cnemidotus is a junior objective synonym of Haliplus Latreille, 1802. Dyticus parvulus O. F. Müller, 1776 is designated as the type species of Bidessus Bedel, 1881. Dytiscus elegáns Panzer, 1794 is designated as the type species of Deronectes Bedel, 1881. Deronectes is a senior objective synonym of Potamodytes Zimmermann, 1919 and of Potamonectes Zimmermann, 1921.
