Abstract: The studies were carried out at the Experimental base of the Forage Insitute, Pleven in the period 1990-1992 on a stand of 1.2 ha for seed production sown in the spring of 1989. Eighteen thrips species were found. For the period of study the thrips represented on the average 17.9% of all insects. The species Aptinothrips rufus, Thrips tabaci, Chirothrips manicatus, etc. had greatest density. The greatest density of 96 specimens/m2 was observes from early flowering until seed ripeness.
