Pages: 115-119.
Abstract: Representatives of 688 species in 195 genera of the Phlaeothripidae (Tubulifera) were examined. Facetal pigmentation was distributed on the ventral and marginal parts of the eyes in only four of 510 species in 154 genera in the subfamily Phlaeothripidae but in subfamily Idolothripidae 132 of 178 species in 32 pf 41 genera had facetal pigmentation. The number of pigmented facets was generally variable in members of a species and within each genus. Distribution patterns were either similar or variable in members of a genus and a system of alignment of pigmented facets common to many genera in the Terebrantia was absent.Journal: Folia entomologica hungaricaJournal abbreviation: Folia ent. hung.ISSN: 0373-9465Publisher: , Editor(s): Mahunka, S.
