Abstract: The denomination of Andricus dentimitratus (Rejtő) has been very conflictive during the last years. Some conclusions recently published are corrected in this paper and the valid name of this species is discussed. After consulting original papers about the species recently named A. gallaeviscosus we summarise that the valid name must be Andricus dentimitratus (Rejtő, 1887). Reasons for this change are commented and incorrect biological data recently published are corrected,so the validity of Andricus floridus Tavares, 1918 is re-established herein. Andricus kiefferi (Cabrera, 1897) is a syn. nova of Andricus quercustozae (Bosc, 1792), and Andricus vilarrubiae Tavares, 1930 is a syn. nova of Andricus solitarius (Boyer de Fonscolombe, 1832).
