Abstract: During the identification of more than 700 Nycteribiidae from the bats caught during the nettings of the Association for Bat Protection, Budapest, between 1996 and 2000 the authors managed to find a genus (Basilia) and three species (Basilia italica, 10 specimens; Basilia nana, 34 specimens; Basilia nattereri, 32 specimens) of bat flies which are new for the fauna of Hungary, and whose description is included in the present article.Keywords: Diptera, Hungary, new records, bat flies, Basilia
