Abstract: Description of Taphaeus robiginosus sp. n. from Australia (New South Wales) is presented on the basis of the holotype specimen. The nearest ally of the new species is Taphaeus hiator (Thunberg, 1822) in the Palaearctic Region. A worldwide checklist of the Taphaeus species was compiled.
