Abstract: Samplings of the cicadellid hompoteran C. morbillosus (Melichar, 1896) has been collected in the Retezat National Park (SW Carpathians, Rou-mania) at elevation 1800 m. This is the first confirmed record of the species occurrence in the Carpathian Basin. The literature, which deals C. morbillosus, is reviewed and has been pointed out that the distinguishing characters were differently figured by various authors.
