Abstract: Carabus (Morphocarabus) comptus paseki ssp. n. is described from the Southern Carpathians (Romania). The new subspecies substantially diff ers from all forms of Carabus comptus Dejean, 1831 in the general body form and the sculpture of the elytra. With 17 figures.
