Abstract: An evaluation of the faunal description published by the a author in 1971. The Upper Albian Cretaceous fauna therein described substantiates unequivocally that the "glauconitic" and "turrilitic" marl of the Bakony Range is Vraconnian. In earlier literature this layers sequence were called "Nana"- and "Pénzeskut beds". A detailed account is given of the history of investigation on the Vraconnian type profile and of the Vraconnian layers in Hungary.
