Abstract: The autor stated, that many of the European fresh-water ostracod species, particularly those belonging to the genera Candona, have been very inadequately described. Recognition of species is already difficult for zoologists, so that paleontologists, who have merely the shell available for comparative purpose find themselves in an intricate situation. A revision of the ostracods is therefore absolutely essantial. The autor introduced a new technique of measurement, and conteded that the solution of the problem is to be found in "Computerised Statistics."
