Abstract: The twin laws of plagioclase phenocrysts originating in andesitic rocks from various locations in Hungary have been determined by U-stage method. The frequencies of the twin laws are given in Figs. 1-5. It was attempted to explain the cause of occurrence of the rare and special twin laws, namely the Baveno, Visegrád and the Börzsöny ones, (their right and left forms), the last two were first described in Hungary.
