Abstract: In a sand-pit in the village Gencsapáti {Western-Hungary, near Szombathely) avertebrate fauna of Upper Pleistocene (Würm I.) age was discovered. The animal assemblage represents the first more significant
microfauna originating from alluvial deposits of a zoogeographically hardly known range: the eastern foothills of the Alps. The discovery of a skull of the Siberian Vole (Microtus Stenocranius gregalis Pallas) proves the presence of this subgenus for the first time in Hungary.Journal: Fragmenta Minerologica et PalaeontologicaJournal abbreviation: ISSN: 0367-2697Publisher: Népművelési Propaganda Iroda, BudapestEditor(s): Nagy, I.
