Abstract: The author studied the Porphyrie plagioclase and pyroxen crystals in samples of Neogene andésites from the Visegrád Mountains, Hungary. While examining their intergrowths, she found that these were, in most cases, controlled by a preferred crystallographlc orientation. Regular intergrowth of two minerals of different composition, crystallizing in different crystal systems, suggests their Joint segregation from the magma and gives clues to solve crystal growth problems.
