Abstract: Data of significance concerning the aetiology, pathology, epidemiology, control and therapy of ovine monieziosis are summarized. Particular emphasis is given to results of recent investigations relating to the ecology of Oribatid mites and the treatment of infected hosts. For preventive therapy, treatment of lambs with Previken (hexachlorophen 1.5 ml/10 kg b.w.) or Bevermin (salicyl-amide 0.5 g/10 kg b.w.) on the 30th and 60th days of grazing is advocated.
