Abstract: The authors present results obtained by treating ancylostomiasis with bepheniumhydroxynaphthoate, dimanthinehydrochloride, and thiabendazole. After 3 days’ treatment with bephenium, 15 of 24 patients were cured, in a further five individuals the egg counts were significantly reduced. Of 24 infected patients 4 were cured by treatment with dimanthinehydrochloride; a significant decrease in egg output was established in 13 cases. Adverse reactions during treatment appeared in a considerable number of cases. Thiabendazole treatment was given for 1, 2 and 3 days, to groups of 12, 14 and 12 individuals, respectively. Treatments for 2 and 3 days cured 13 and 11 individuals, respectively; untoward reactions were seen in about 1/5 of the cases.
