Abstract: The frequency of toxoplasma-infected persons in the Hungarian population was studied by the authors in Budapest and six other regions. The Frenkel skin test was used in the investigation of 10.496 people, while the complement fixation test was applied in 1.045. The proportion of infected people shows a rise with age; 52.9 % of the population becomes infected before the age of 60 years. Women, keeping pets in their homes were found to be most often affected. Town population seems to be more infected than that of the villages. It was found, that infection takes place at an early age, and antibodies are usually found only in small titers in the infected people’s blood.Journal: Parasitologia HungaricaJournal abbreviation: ISSN: 0303-688XPublisher: Népművelési Propaganda Iroda, BudapestEditor(s): Kassai, T., Kralovánszky, A., K.
