Abstract: Presidential report held at the plenary session of the Hungarian Society of Parasitologists devoted to the tenth anniversary of its foundation in 1964. Major achievements of the Society are briefly surveyed and trends of development of research units and laboratory services working on the field of veterinary, medical and zoological parasitology in Hungary are outlined. On the basis of an analysis of some present features and future tasks of parasitological activities in the country, suggestions are given in order to improve further work.
