Abstract: Although amidostomosis is a frequent helminthosis in goose flocks in Hungary, severe outbreaks are rare. Geese intended for cramming should be treated without exception. In flocks turned out on pasture, therapeutic programme should be established on the basis of gizzard examinations on geese died due to any condition and considering the actual management system. In Hungary three preparations have been available for amidostomosis therapy, metriphonate (Ditrifon), tetramisole (Biverm) and mebendazole (Mebenvet); out of them Ditrifon proved to be the preparation of choice, in respect of easy application and low price. Mebenvet is recommended for the treatment of geese younger than 4 weeks, because Ditrifon may be toxic for them.
