Abstract: In this review paper the author discusses literary data including also the results of his own research group concerning the life cycle of Toxocara canis, pathologic significance of migrating Toxocara-larvae, epidemiology and control of toxocarosis. Special consideration is given to the role of paratenic hosts in spreading the infection and to the characteristics of migration of larvae within the organism of the paratenic host.
