Abstract: A concise summary is given of the incidence, organ distribution and therapy of Echinococcus hydatidosus infestation in humans, as well as of the immunologic tests applied for its diagnosis. An antigen extracted from the scolices proved very reliable for the complement fixation test according to the author’s own experiences.
