Abstract: Of 71 red deer (Cervus elaphus hippelaphus) belonging to one population 32 (45%) were found infected with E. cervi. Of 25 calves, 14 yearlings and 32 adults, 10, 7 and 15 animals harboured parasites, respectively. Individual worm counts made in the skull and the muscles varied between 1 to 7 and 1 to 40, respectively.
