Abstract: In a pond farm (near Budapest) on the mesenterium of 10-week old fries (rate: 38%) Proteocephalide scoleces were found by the authors. It is suggested that the carp is a paratenic host of the cestode Proteocephalus osculatus or an Ophiotaenia species.
