Abstract: The occurrence of protozoa and helminth infestations in patients of the Clinic for Skin- and Venereal Diseases of the Medical University of Pécs was studied in a three-year period. 222 patients (37.4% of the total cases) were found to be infested with parasites. 68% of the patients were affected by protozoa, 30% by helminths and 2% by other parasites. In 70% of the positive cases the number of eosinophils was increased.
