Abstract: The scope of the family Diplodiscidae Skrjabin, 1949 was restricted as a result of the revision of the diplodiscid species. Two subfamilies (Diplodiscinae and Opisthodiscinae) have been separated with eigth genera: Diplodiscus, Australodiscus, Catadiscus, Dermatemytrema, Progonimodiscus, Pseudodiplodiscus and Megalodiscus, Opisthodiscus). Review of the taxa, key to subfamilies, genera and species as well as their zoogeographical affinities were given.
