Abstract: The morphological characterization and habitat of Hungarian Mallophaga spp. are presented, together with the method of their preparation according to Brelich. The processed material was collected from birds in Hungary, mostly in county Bács between 1953 and 1979. In addition to faunistic data, the location of bird-lice on the host and the number of male, female and larval forms found on one host are reported, too. The host birds belonged to 19 species of 9 orders, whereas the bird-lice represented 22 species of 16 genera of 2 suborders.
