Abstract: “Contributions to the parasite fauna of Hungarian game ruminants. I. Parasite infection in fawns and yearlings in roe deer (Capreolus c. capreolus)”. – Some helminth and insect parasites were examined in and on 70 young (2-24 months old) roe deer. The deer were harvested in three hunting ground (Babát, Árpádhalom and Pitvaros) in 1981-84. Droppings and blood samples were not examined. Altogether 24 endo- and 3 ectoparasites were identified. The relationships between the age of the deer and some morphological features (spiculum, gubernaculum) of the collected trichostrongylid worms were evaluated. An inverse correlation was found between the measurements (spiculum lengths and gubernaculum length in Ostertagia leptospicularis, Skrjabinagia kolchida and Spiculopteragia böhmi) and the host age. Keywords: Hungary, roe deer, parasites, Capreolus capreolus, morphological features, Trichostrongylidae, host age
