Abstract: A new record of the European Mink is given from Hungary. A skin without skull collected in 1952 is the first museum specimen from western part of the country. All the specimen of this species in the collection of the Hungarian Natural History Museum are revised. Mustela lutreola transsylvanica Éhik is recognised as the only valid subspecies in the Carpathian Basin.
