Abstract: Morphological and some physiological characters of a new inbred rabbit strain "medium-sized Flemish Giant" ("verzwergter Belgischer Riese") are described. Inspite of the reduced body size, measurements and organ weights, most exemplars of the strain have retained the higher number (27) of the presacral vertebrae, a characteristic feature for Giant rabbits.
