Abstract: Elements of the herpetofauna react differentally to changing environment. Three different types can be distinguished among them. Some species disappaer from the changed region (Vipera berus, Lacerta vivipara, Rana temporaria), whereas the populations of other species survive - but their numbers decrease, and at last a small number of species become well adapted to the altered factors of the new environment.Subject: zoology
