Abstract: The sphecid material from Formosa, preserved in the Hungarian Natural History Museum (Budapest), consist of 585 specimens comprising 75 species in which are included the following seven new taxa: Bembecinus paiwanus sp. n., Alysson takasago sp. n., Trypoxylon taihorinsho sp. n., Lestica (Solenius) formosana sp. n., Lestica (Solensis) fulvipes sp. n., Rhopalum (Lathropalum) sauteri sp. n., and Crossocerus (Achantocrabro) krusemani sauteri ssp. n. The hitherto unknown sexes of the following taxa are described: Cerceris trichobunda Strand, Trypoxylon tainanense Strand, Trypoxylon takasago Tsuneki, Trypoxylon fenchihuense Tsuneki, Crossocerus (Ornicrabro) flavissimus Leclercq and Psenulus ornatus pempuchiensis Tsuneki. One abberation each of Trypoxylon takasago Tsuneki and of Trypoxylon obsonator Smith is also described. The Formosan race of Liris japonica (Kohl) is identified with Liris manilae (Asmead) (1904) is sunk to a subspecies of Tachysphex nigricolor Dalla Torre (1897). Ectemnius (Cameronitus) bogorensis Leclercq is recorded for the first time from Formosa.Subject: entomology
