Abstract: Key to the lacteus-, longipalpis-, ultor-, butalidis and vipio-group comprising all European ???(299 and some extra-European (9 East Palearctic and 3 North African), a total of 41 Apantales species, is given. Recent type-examination revealed the following new synonymy: A. naso Marshall, 1885 = A. contortus Tobias, 1964 syn. n. = A. evander Nixon, 1965, syn. n. All species are enumerated in an alphabetic order within their respective species-group.
