Abstract: Some species of the systematic difficult genus Nyctophila are revisioned, the following nomenclatorial changes are resulting: Lampyris brullei Reiche 1863 = Nyctophyla reichii brullei stat. n.; Nyctophyla bonvoulorii (Jacquelin Du Val 1860) is valid; Lampyris mauritanica Olivier variata ssp. n. with the 2 varietes var. carinata nov. and var. rufibasis nov. N. confusa pygidialis ssp. n.; N. anatolica sp. n.; N. incognita sp. n.. It is pointed out, that N. reichii (Jacquelin Du Val, 1859) and N. heydeni (Olivier, 1884) are - in contrast to earlier reports - no part of the North African fauna.
