Abstract: 14 new species from New Caledonia, Solomon Is., Papuan New Guinea and Irian are described and included in a determination key for all known species. The relative genus Mesotretis Bates 1872 is monotypical. Among species described in the genus Mesotretis glaber Lea, 1929 = Iscanus glaber; M. pubipennis Lea, 1929, M. fumata Lea, 1929 = Lorelus pubipennis, L. fumatus comb. n. and M. inconstans Lea, 1917 = Notoprateus inconstans (Lea, 1817) comb. n.; Lorelus chinensis Kaszab, 1940 = Bolitrium crenulicolle Gebeien, 1913, syn. n. The genera of Notoprateus Carter, 1924, Bolitrium Gebeien, 1913, Mesotretis Bates, 1872, Iscanus fauvel, 1904 and Lorelus Sharp, 1876 belong in the Pacific and Papuan tribe of Luporini.
